Due to the unprecendented situation we now find ourselves in, we are now offering telephone and video consultations to all our patients.
While we believe that hands-on assessment and treatment is a fundamental component of effective Physiotherapy intervention, it is only one of the many tools we use to help our patients.
Thank you for the online session today. I wasn't sure how useful it would be without receiving your physical treatment but I actually found it extremely helpful. It was also a good reminder of the exercises I should have been doing daily. - CB
Effective Physiotherapy depends on the experience, skills and creativity of the therapist combining all the tools at our disposal.
This starts with a detailed assessment of the patient's situation and condition, leading to an accurate diagnosis.
From there, effective rehab is achieved through the combination of exercises (for strengthening, stretching, releasing, stabilising, controlling, movement patterning etc), changes to your environment (activities, ergonomics, movement and work patterns) and helping you understand your body and the problem you are experiencing.
All of this can be achieved without having to be in the same room.
I have found the (video) sessions extremely helpful. Michael has given me exercises to do and these have proved really beneficial. The problems with the pains in my neck are easing ... We also had time for him to show me on the model of the neck how we were trying to correct the problem I have with my neck. - BK
Indeed, a video consultation opens up a number of other opportunities, like seeing you in your (home) working environment, allowing us to make more specific changes and recommendations.
We can still help you, the only thing that has changed is the way in which we are able to do this at the moment.
Find out how this simple exercise can reduce you chances of experiencing neck pain, shoulder pain and headaches and keep a healthy neck for longer.
